Help Mel to buy a new car

Donation protected
Hi guys. As a lot of you will know, Mel has unfortunately had her car written off by a tractor. He pulled out from a bus stop without looking and went into the side of her and Lacey. Thankfully both are ok and that's the main thing. But Mel has now been left with no car and no funds to get a new one. Due to her cars age, they valued the car at £1190 but so far she has only received £790 pay out as they are fighting the other insurance company for the £400 excess. Mels courtesy car has been collected today so now she has no transport. A lot of you will know about the hardship Mel has endured since finding herself as a single parent in the cruelest of ways, but not once has Mel ever asked for help. She has found herself in many tricky situations financially over the years and has always managed to find a way to overcome them. However, this is one situation where she just can't find a way out of. Mel works hard as a community carer and relies heavily on having a car. She would be heartbroken if she had to give that up. Mel has recently spent nearly £700 on her car. Only 2 mnths ago she spent over £400 to get it through its MOT, and before that she had to have a new alternator. Both amounts having to be paid for with a credit card. So she is now left paying off a debt for a car she no longer owns. I have wracked my brains for a way to help Mel with the devastating position she has now found herself in, through no fault of her own. And the only thing i could come up with is this. I was wondering, if perhaps with a little help from family and friends we could help Mel to raise the funds she needs to be able to buy a new car. As we all know, cars aren't cheap anymore and after looking online for cars, it would appear that anything below £1500 either need expensive work doing or has very high mileage. Being a single Mum of 3, money is already stretched and with paying off the credit card debt, Mel isn't in a position to buy a car which she will then need to throw money at time and time again. Also, being a community carer, the mileage adds up pretty quickly. I know times are tough for a lot of us right now but if you could spare anything at all to help Mel it would be GREATLY appreciated.
