Hi everyone, it’s Mel. I am reaching out to ask for your support in getting me to Kansas ️ to say a final goodbye to my Grandma Betty. Kansas is a place where I hold so many precious memories with her, and being there for her service is incredibly important to me.

As many of you know, I am still recovering from my accident in January 2024. Because I am currently waiting on SSDI (Social Security Disability Insurance) approval, I am without an income to cover the sudden costs of travel. My physical health adds another layer of difficulty; due to my lumbar and cervical spine injuries, extended sitting is very painful. To make this trip possible, I need to fly from Denver to Wichita (ICT) ️ to keep my travel time as short as possible and minimize the strain on my back. I am planning to travel May 7th – 10th, and because these dates are approaching quickly, I have a very short window to book my flight before prices go up!

I am hoping to raise funds for an accessible plane ticket ️, care for my dogs Wizard and Luna so I can be present with family, a proper outfit for the funeral, and basic travel expenses like small meals and transport while in Kansas. I’ve included my favorite photo—a selfie of us from her 80th birthday in 2015. It represents the joy we shared, and I want so much to be there to honor her life.
