I never thought I would be in a position where I needed to ask for help like this, but right now I truly could use support. I recently traveled to Jamaica for my great grandmother’s funeral, something that was very important to me and my family. What was meant to be a short trip has now turned into a much longer stay due to unexpected circumstances, and I am currently unable to return to the United States as planned. Because of this, I have already missed over a week of work unpaid, and I do not have PTO available to cover this time. My job is still secure, but I am not getting paid for the missed days, and I am set to return by the 19th. Since I am on a semi-monthly pay schedule, I won’t receive a paycheck for the end of May until June 15th. On top of that, I came with only a few days’ worth of clothes and limited essentials, including medication I am supposed to be taking regularly. My bills in the U.S. have not stopped—rent, car, and other monthly expenses are still due, and my boyfriend is doing what he can to help, but we normally rely on both of our incomes to stay afloat. I am doing everything I can to resolve this situation and get back home as soon as possible.

I know this isn’t a life-or-death emergency, and I don’t want to take away from anyone facing truly critical situations. But this unexpected setback is making my financial situation much worse, and I am really praying for help so I don’t fall further behind or let the stress overwhelm me. The support from this fundraiser will go toward covering my rent and essential bills for May and June, basic necessities while I am stuck abroad, and travel-related expenses to return home and get back to work. As a beauty professional, I want to give back to anyone who supports me with future service discounts and special offers once I return.
