Meiko is only 4 years old and has already been through so much. Over the past month, he’s been in and out of the ER vet with severe constipation, yowling in pain, and a loss of appetite that caused him to lose over 6 pounds. Despite many enemas, manual stool removals, and daily medications, Meiko was diagnosed with megacolon and needed a subtotal colectomy to save his life.

After surgery, Meiko faced even more challenges—he developed jaundice, a fever, and his bilirubin levels were dangerously high. He’s currently on three different IV antibiotics and a E-tube as he is not eating on his own. While he started to show signs of improvement, he’s now straining in the litter box again and unable to go. X-rays have confirmed that he’s backed up once more and needs further medical intervention. My mom has done everything she can to save her boy, but the bills keep adding up and she’s exhausted every option available to her. She has such a huge heart for all living creatures and will do anything to help them, but right now, she needs help to continue Meiko’s care. She needs to come up with an additional $6,000 to continue his care.
