Help Meika Regroup (Before I Start Talking to My Plants for Advice)

Hi everyone, I’m Meika. I’m 50 years old (51 in March!), currently working as a CNA, and enrolled in a BSN nursing program because apparently I love doing everything the HARD way at this age.

But real talk — going back to school at 50 isn’t for the weak. My son graduated college with his bachelor’s degree and told me, “Mom, now it’s your turn.” That moment changed everything for me. I went and got my CNA, and now I’m in a full BSN nursing program chasing the dream I always put on the back burner.

I’ve overcome a LOT in my life. Childhood trauma, having a small support system, and learning how to start over at a stage in life where most people expect you to already have everything figured out. But even through all that, I’m still here, still fighting, still building.

Both of my parents passed away before they ever got to see me accomplish anything. But I know they’re looking down on me now, proud that I’m still pushing, still growing, and still believing in myself even when life threw every obstacle my way.

Now I’m in this next chapter, trying to stay afloat while I work full-time, go to school full-time, rebuild my life, and figure out what my next steps look like. And honestly? It’s hard. It’s expensive. And it’s a lot for one person to hold on their own.

So I’m asking for a little help — not sympathy, just support while I regroup.
