Help Meigs Students Reach NHD Nationals in D.C.
Donation protected
Hi! We are 8th graders at Meigs Academic Magnet School in Nashville, TN. We are part of the NHD program and we are trying to raise enough money to go to the National Competition in Washington, D.C. alongside our teachers this summer. NHD stands for National History Day and is a year-long educational program and contest for students from 6th to 12th grade. Kids research historical topics that pique their interest and present their findings. The competition is from June 8-12, but the payment deadline is on May 10. Our school has PTO, but they do not cover NHD expenses. There are 3 members in our group and we have to pay for travel, housing, food, etc., and would like our families and teachers to be able to come and support us. We already won our regional and state competitions.
We are the first exhibit that our teacher has ever brought to Nationals and we would really love to attend it. Our project is on the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, which was the largest Jewish revolt against Nazi control during the Holocaust. The uprising sparked hope throughout Europe and still encourages others to fight against oppressive governments today.
