Mei Mei is recovering from pneumonia and needs surgery to open her airways!
Mei is the sweetest little girl; she is 4 years old and weighs 5lbs, and the keeper of my heart.
She had to be hospitalized in the ER with pneumonia recently, which cost over $7000.00, and it has wiped out my savings so I am reaching out to the community for support to raise money for the surgery that she needs to make sure she can continue to breathe and live a long happy life.
BOAS surgery (Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome surgery)
For a small flat-faced breed like a Japanese Chin, it usually involves one or more of these specific procedures:
• Stenotic nares resection – widens the nostrils so they can breathe better
• Soft palate resection – shortens an elongated soft palate that blocks the airway.
We won’t know exactly how much the surgery will be until she is under sedation and the doctor is able to see her soft palate. Because she’s is so tiny she will need to see a specialist and not just a regular surgeon, and the estimated cost is between $5k-8k.
Any amounting helpful, Thank you so much for visiting!
