It is with the heaviest of hearts that Meghan Nelson’s family and friends come together to create this GoFundMe to rally our community around her husband Ryan Allen, and their three beautiful children, Liam, Nolan, and Sawyer, as they navigate an unimaginable loss.

Meghan was truly one of the most selfless people you could ever meet. She was warm-hearted. She was joyful. She looked for any opportunity to help, showing up for her family, friends, and community time and again. We called her Mega-woman for a reason: her heart was big enough to carry us all. She gave so much of herself to the people she cared for and was the true definition of a healer.

Above all, Meghan built a colorful, beautiful, and loving home for her three children. She showed her boys how to love, and she became a fierce advocate for her daughter Sawyer, as well as, for so many other children with special needs across Siouxland. Her loss leaves an enormous void, and the road ahead for Ryan and the kids will be one filled with grief, adjustment, and uncertainty.

We are asking our community and all those whose lives Meghan touched to come together and surround the Allen family with the love and support they need during this incredibly difficult time. In addition to the emotional weight of losing Meghan, there will be significant financial challenges as Ryan moves forward without his wife and their kids without their mom.

Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help lessen that financial burden and provide Ryan, Liam, Nolan, and Sawyer with some stability as they begin to navigate life without Meghan.
