Jordan and Meghan are high school sweethearts who were married in 2010.
Meghan is an amazing momma to 6 wonderful kiddos and is one of the most kind hearted, unselfish people out there. This kind heartedness and unselfishness is manifested through her and Jordan’s heart for foster care. After having one child of their own they decided to open up their home to foster children who might otherwise not have a place to call home. Since then they have adopted four kids they’ve fostered, and have fostered many others, including a six month old right now.
On October 23 Meghan was brought to the ER after having a seizure at home. She underwent multiple tests including a MRI, CT scan, a functional MRI, and EEG’s. From these they found a tumor on her brain, embedded in the speech area. The doctors went in to biopsy the tumor for further testing and as a result, because of the location of the tumor, Meghan’s speech was negatively affected. Her speech was slowed but they were confident it would come back nearly all the way back to normal. Then, on November 7 the results came back from an extracted piece of the tumor, and Meghan and Jordan were met with the last thing they wanted to hear; Meghan has stage 3 brain cancer. Specifically, she has an aggressive form called Anaplastic Astrocytoma. Due to the location of the tumor the doctors will not be operating on it, which means this will be a life long battle full of treatments to ensure the tumor does not grow. This has brought a significant weight upon the family not only physically, but emotionally and financially as well, and is only the beginning.
When all of this began the kids had to be away from Meghan for a couple of weeks, and with all of them being 8 or younger, it has been a rough transition for them.
With the kiddos at home, and the medical bills associated with the treatment and travel starting to accumulate, they can use all the help they can get. With this in mind, we humbly ask you to join Meghan and Jordan in this fight and ask for support.
