Help support Megan Tabitha Harrell's Recovery

Donation protected

On March 30th, Megan Harrell was jumping at a trampoline park with her son, Callon during his 6th birthday party and suffered a severe tibia/fibula fracture below the knee. This injury developed compartment syndrome. A fasciotomy was done the next day to prevent necrosis and save the tissue, skin and nerves from dying from extreme swelling. A wound vac was placed over the incision they had to make which was pretty much the length of her calf. During this surgery, they also set her leg with an external fixation, drilled into the femur and the bottom of the tibia, to hold her leg in place until the extreme swelling went down enough to fix the break.

Several days later on April 2nd, she had a surgery to clean the fasciotomy and place a new wound vac in the incision. Once the swelling had gone down, her final surgeries were done on April 8th. During this procedures, they removed the external fixator and wound vac. They placed screws and plates in the break below both sides of the knee and closed the fasciotomy with a large skin graft from her thigh. She was discharged from the hospital on April 12th after being in the hospital almost 2 weeks. She is now recovering at home.

There is a long road to recovery left for Megan. She still has sutures that are closing the incisions. Her leg is still bandaged and she has to keep it straight and elevated the majority of the time. She has to use a walker as she still can't put any weight on her leg yet. We have a wheelchair to get her back and forth to her check ups with her doctors. She has missed almost a month of work already and will need a couple more months while her wounds heal and she goes through extensive physical therapy to be able to walk again. She is resilient, and all of her doctors and nurses are impressed with her motivation to get better, attitude and toughness!

Please help with the financial burden and stress of this ordeal so Megan can focus on healing and getting back to work without worrying about missing work for so long. All funds raised will go towards any medical expenses not covered by her insurance, as well as general living expenses and bills during her recovery. If you are unable to donate, please share on social media, or with your friends and family.

Thank you to everyone that has given their support for thoughts, prayers, and checking in on Megan and our family. It means a lot to us and helps her stay uplifted and positive during these tough times.
