Hello Friends,
I have written a new one-act play called Vice and Virtue. I have the opportunity to put the play up at the Secret Theater's Act One: One Act Festival in New York City!
The play follows two exes, Harriet and Madeline. Harriet is a gay Episcopal priest fighting for a center of worship in her hometown that welcomes and celebrates queerness. When Madeline arrives in her office one Sunday morning, old wounds begin to open.
Vice and Virtue explores queer identity in the Midwest and the corrosive power of extreme Christian ideology. Growing up in Missouri and dealing with Evangelical fervor has made me passionate about advocating for the ongoing safety of queer Americans everywhere.
Developing the show through this festival means sourcing props and costumes, and paying the talented people who help bring the show to life.
If you have anything to spare, please consider donating!
