Help Megan & Robb recovery from sewage flooding

16 years ago to almost the day, many of you rallied around my sister, Megan, with so much love and support as she battled Leukemia. I humble come to you again asking for your love and support for her and Robb as they do their best to recover from major damage to their home do to a nasty sewage flood.

The week before Christmas they experienced some sewage flooding in their basement so quickly called the plumber to snake the line, cleaned up the mess, washed numerous load of towels and thought it was all over. After a few days of it being resolved, Megan drove down to join us for the holidays, only to receive a call from Robb the flooding was back and extreme. After just a few hours of being here to visit, she rushed to the airport to get home to help take care of the issue. Over the next six hours, the city and county debated whose responsibility it was to fix the sewer line. Meanwhile, Megan and Robb's basement that was recently remodeled to create a master suite and family room was filling inch by inch with sewage. The city final opened the man hole to find a huge blockage which caused all the neighborhood sewage to be forced into their basement. Ten hours later, the flow of sewage finally stopped and the restoration company was able to start removing the hazardous waste and dry the basement. At this point, you would think it was over, but nope. About a week later the water heater burst, sending water all through the basement while the fans were literally still drying.

The plumbing, restoration and soon rebuilding costs are adding up extremely fast. Insurance maxed out at $5000 and the city could only release $10,000 immediately so they are stuck covering everything until their claim to the city hopefully gives more (they have already hired an attorney to do their best to ensure they are compensated for all expenses). The $15,000 paid their plumber and for the removal of the hazardous waste only.

Since they remodeled the basement they were renting out the master bedroom upstairs which is now where they are camped out so they cannot rent it out & receive that income. There are numerous people in and out of the house each day so Robb needs to stay home & not work to look after the dogs (boarding is really expensive). The mental and physical stress is wearing on both of them and they need our help to be able to pay next months bills. They are hopeful that when they receive a settlement they will be able to pay people back or pay the funds forward to someone else in need...both such have giving hearts they really do not want to take from others but do need our help.

Anything you are able to contribute will definitely help them along.
