I’m writing on behalf of my sister, Megan, who’s in the middle of a really difficult chapter. This summer, she’s been hospitalized multiple times due to complications from her autoimmune disorder, ulcerative colitis. Her first hospitalization was especially serious—she needed several blood transfusions, as well as IV iron and potassium, just to stabilize. Since then, it’s been one uphill battle after another.

Through it all, Megan has shown so much strength and determination. She’s a single mom to two young girls, and while their dad, Cody, has been incredibly supportive and has taken on more to help during this time, Megan has carried so much on her own. Earlier this year, she made the brave and hopeful decision to start cosmetology school—a big step toward building a secure, fulfilling future for her family.

She’s been doing everything right. She works hard. She loves hard. She is a light in all of our lives. And it’s unfair that despite all that, she’s now facing the reality of having to pause school and take leave from work—something her body desperately needs, but her budget can’t support.

We’re hoping to raise $10,000 to help Megan cover her basic expenses for the next five to six months and give her the space she needs to rest, heal, and focus fully on her health without added stress.
