Megan McLaughlin is my daughter, and she’s always been the heart of our family. Recently, Megan was on her way to work when she twisted her ankle on an uneven surface and suffered a terrible fall. She had just started a new job after seven years at her previous employer, which had been sold. Even though she was in pain, Megan didn’t want to miss her training and pushed through her work day By the end of her shift, the pain was unbearable, and I took her to the ER, where we learned her leg and ankle were broken. The swelling was so severe she couldn’t stand, and she was referred to an orthopedic specialist for surgery.
During the procedure to repair her bones, Megan suffered a blood clot that traveled to her lung. Her vital signs dropped, and the surgery had to be stopped immediately. It was a terrifying moment as doctors worked to stabilize her. She was airlifted to Tampa and admitted to the ICU, where she received blood thinners and breathing support. She was minutes from passing away. Megan’s surgery remains incomplete, and she must continue blood thinners before it can be finished. She is still unable to work and, as the head of our household and caretaker for her parents, the financial strain is overwhelming. Our savings are depleted, and we are struggling to cover rent, utilities, and basic living expenses while Megan recovers.
Megan is such a hardworking and giving person, and she has a long road ahead. Any—truly any—help to ease the financial strain during this time is deeply appreciated. Prayers are needed now more than ever. Please help her get back on her feet (literally), and thank you so much. God bless.
