My name is Megan, and I’ve been battling severe endometriosis for over 10 years as my symptoms started when I was 13. I was not diagnosed until 2019. In the last 6 years, I’ve undergone 12 excision surgeries, each one trying to give me even a little bit of my life back. Unfortunately, the disease keeps returning aggressively, and over the last several months my health has taken a serious downward turn. I’ve been in and out of the hospital repeatedly, and my quality of life has declined dramatically.
I am now under the care of one of the world’s top endometriosis excision specialists, a surgeon who has the expertise needed to finally address the extensive disease and scar tissue that is taking over my abdomen and affecting multiple organs. This surgery is complicated, necessary, and gives me real hope for a future where I can simply live without constant pain.
The hospital accepts my insurance, but the surgeon does not. Because he is out of network, I’m facing approximately $12,000 out of pocket just for the surgeon’s portion of the procedure. A family member is helping with $8,000 of it leaving $4,000 for us to save and raise in any way we can. Plus additional fees since I have to stay in the Atlanta GA area for 72 hours.
Right now, I’m home on prescribed morphine just to stay comfortable while I wait for surgery. I’m unable to work, and my husband Trevor is our only source of income. We are doing everything we can, but we can’t cover this alone while also trying to keep up with regular bills, medications, and basic living expenses.
I’m only 24 years old, and I want my life back. I want to be able to work again, move again, spend time with my loved ones, and simply have a life outside of pain.
If you are able to help—even a little—it would mean the world to us. Your support will go directly toward the surgery that I desperately need to restore my health and my future.
Thank you for reading, sharing, or donating. Your kindness truly gives me hope.
❤️ Megan & Trevor
