I am Megan McKenzie, I am a single mother of four beautiful children, and I'm an aunt who takes care of my late sister's son. My house was the house washing away from Irwin, St. James in the viral video during hurricane Melissa. Hurricane Melissa took everything from us. Our home was washed away right before my eyes. The place where my children laughed, slept, and felt safe is now gone. We have nothing left but the clothes we are wearing.

Right now, we are just trying to find somewhere safe to rest our heads. My children keep asking me when we are going back home, and I don’t have an answer. It breaks my heart because I have always tried my best to provide for them, and now we are starting from nothing.
