
Help Meg with recovery cost and returning to UND

Meg received a a diagnosis of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy at the end of her freshman year of high school. This diagnosis drastically changed her life. She had to find a new passion - which turned out to be chemistry. In 2022 she began her college journey at the University of North Dakota. She has fallen in love with UND and was on a trajectory to graduate in 4 years with degrees in Chemistry and Forensic Science. Just a few weeks ago during a routine checkup it was determined that she would need open heart surgery in October. She will be having a septal myectomy soon on and have a 12 week recovery. She has had to leave school which was devastating for her. She hopes to return in January but that will take a lot of work. The cost of the care she is receiving along with traveling 8 hours for appointments over the next few months will mean a significant cost. We are hoping for donations to help alleviate the cost of travel to appointments in Rochester and surgery. This will help her return to school in 2024.
