Help Meg with Surgery Costs!

I'm on my way to having a pretty major surgery that is not covered by my insurance. This procedure has huge positive implications for my level of comfort and my overall health.

I started to develop shoulder, neck, and back pain almost a decade ago as a result of my chest size. Now, at 25, I am in nearly constant pain that severely hinders my ability to do a multitude of tasks; whether I'm sewing, which is my main source of income, or standing to do my dishes, or even just laying down to sleep at night, I am in pain. This pain is not just physical, but it's emotional, too. I am ready to be freed from this physical and mental burden, and that is exactly what an elective reduction will help me achieve.

This surgery will be a huge factor in pain reduction and will help prevent my back issues from getting any worse, will make various methods of exercise easier and less painful, and will help me function better in my day-to-day life.

The cost of the procedure without insurance will be roughly $8,500. I will be unable to work for at least a week and I currently do not have paid leave, so the additional $500 would help me to not take a financial hit from being out of work. My consultation is on November 6th and I will be expected to put down a deposit of at least $1,000 that day in order to schedule a date for surgery. 

I take pride in being independent and self-sufficient, but this is a circumstance in which I'm willing to ask openly for the help that I need.
