Help Meg Fight Their Autoimmune Disease
Donation protected
As an Asian-American, Trans* Non-binary, freelance artist, Meg’s existence is a revolution. Today, they were diagnosed with a life-threatening autoimmune disease, granulomatosis. For years, Meg has been an advocate for marginalized communities. Even when financially struggling, Meg wanted to validate others’ existence by doing a giveaway on their YouTube channel. Two people received chest binders from Meg. Now is the time that we can advocate for Meg. Now is the time we can thank Meg for all the inspiration, laughter, and love they have shown us over the years.

I had to convince Megan for permission to start a fundraiser because they feel guilty for asking for help, especially during this time. We can take advantage of catching this disease early on if Meg can get the treatment needed to prevent the disease from spreading. Treatment will consist of chemotherapy, various medications, imaging and more. Meg radiates positivity, creativity and encouragement to so many people. It breaks my heart to think of their life getting cut short from a disease that can be managed if tackled immediately. Please help me show Meg how appreciated they are.
Meg’s birthday is on April 24 and they will be turning 24 years old. For their birthday, they will be quarantining like everyone else, but I want them to feel special on their golden birthday. If you are able, consider donating $24 on April 24 to celebrate Megan’s 24th birthday. I am grateful for your donation, however big or small, to help my best friend. If you are unable to donate, please send words of encouragement or share this page. I can’t imagine how scary of a time it is to be diagnosed with this during a global pandemic. Thank you for your time. Take care of yourselves and stay safe.

Below is a note from Megan:
After years of chronic nosebleeds, sinusitis, and fatigue, today I was diagnosed with granulomatosis, a disorder that causes inflammation of my blood vessels. I am lucky to have caught this early on, as I am told that if granulomatosis is left untreated, the inflammation will cause organ failure throughout my body.
In the coming weeks, I will need rounds of chemotherapy, as well as other medications with strong side effects. This news is particularly disheartening because 6 months ago, I took a leap of faith to pursue art full time. I’ve been utterly grateful for consistent commissions and the opportunity to build my business. However, the doctors say that once treatment begins, my body will be recovering from the multitude of side effects that will affect my energy level, immune system, and overall health. Even after my insurance comes through, I’ll be able to use these donations for co-pays and meds for years to come.
With the collective trauma we are all facing due to COVID-19, I realize that times are really tough for people. I appreciate any and all support you are able to give at this time - whether that be financial, informational or emotional.
