The Story Behind The Lineage of Hope
Cancer has touched almost every generation of my family. My grandmother fought breast cancer before passing away before I was born, and my Aunt Joan lost her life to thyroid cancer. Over the years, I watched my mother and remaining aunts face breast cancer head-on with grace and courage.
When my own genetic testing revealed a positive ATM gene mutation, I decided to rewrite the narrative. I took control of my health and underwent a preventative hysterectomy, double mastectomy, and reconstruction.
Navigating that process showed me firsthand that cancer and high-risk prevention are so much more than managing doctor appointments and healing from surgery. The real toll is quiet, heavy, and felt every single day - not just by the person in the recovery bed, but by the families and support systems holding them up through the uncertainty.
I founded The Lineage of Hope to lighten that daily burden. Our initiative is dedicated to delivering specialized, zero-cost care packages directly to women navigating a recent diagnosis, active treatment, surgical recovery, or high-risk preventive care.
Why Our Care Packages Matter
When you are facing surgery or chemotherapy, knowing what you actually need to heal can feel overwhelming. Every box we send is practical, tailored, and curated from lived experience.
We offer four distinct box types, customized to the recipient’s exact stage. Below is a sample of what will be included in each box:
- Recent Diagnosis Box: Binder and journal for tracking medical notes, appointment organizers, stress-relief items, and guidance for loved ones.
- Active Treatment Box (Chemo/Radiation): Ultra-soft beanies, fragrance-free deep moisture creams, natural nausea remedies, and port-accessible clothing.
- Post-Op & Surgical Recovery Box: Custom surgical drain trackers, specialized mastectomy/seatbelt pillows, drain belts, meal gift cards and gentle cleansing wipes for restricted showering.
- Preventive & High-Risk Box: Specialized recovery tools for prophylactic surgeries, genetic navigation resources, self-care goodies, and healing wellness items.
Every single kit is sent at $0 cost to the recipient and their family.
Our Goal: 50 Boxes Ready by February 2027
We are raising $7,500 to assemble, pack, and ship our first wave of 50 complete care packages ready for delivery in February 2027.
