Meeko, my good cat boy, has been a part of our family since he was a kitten. He was found after falling out of a farm truck, and since then, he has brought so much joy and love into our lives. Unfortunately, Meeko is now facing a serious health challenge. He has been diagnosed with lumbosacral nerve root impairment on his left side, affecting his ability to lift his tail and causing muscle spasms and pain. His left leg is also beginning to lose function, and without imaging and surgery, he won't recover.
Meeko has been on crate rest for over six weeks and is currently on a regimen of steroids, Solensia, and pain relievers. Despite these efforts, his condition requires specialist care. We recently consulted with the only animal neurologist in Kentucky, located at Metro Vet in Louisville. They have recommended an MRI to determine the underlying cause of his condition and possibly perform surgery to fix it.
This situation has been emotionally and financially challenging for us. Meeko is like a son to us, and the thought of losing him is heartbreaking. We feel like we're already grieving his loss because we're terrified we won't be able to afford what he needs to fix the issue. We are reaching out for support to afford the specialist care that Meeko desperately needs. Your help can make a significant difference in ensuring Meeko receives the treatment necessary to regain his health and continue being the happy, purring, and spunky son he is.
