Hi everyone,
My name is Alexa, and I’m fundraising for my sweet dog Meeka. She's a 12-year-old chihuahua with the heart of a lion and the gentlest soul.
Recently, Meeka was diagnosed with an oral growth that has slowly expanded toward her gums and teeth. She’s also in need of a full dental cleaning and likely multiple extractions to prevent long-term pain, infection, or further complications. These procedures are not cosmetic—they’re essential to her comfort, health, and longevity.
The estimated cost for everything, including anesthesia monitoring, growth removal, full dental x-rays, and follow-up care is between $3,000 and $4,600 CAD. The anesthesia monitoring is crucial as Meeka has mitral valve disease. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, I am no longer working at the moment and am currently looking for work to save up as her dental is scheduled for next month.
I’ve done everything I can to prepare—research, consultations, care credit options—but I’ve reached a place where I can’t do this alone. I’ve had Meeka since she was a puppy, and she’s helped me through anxiety, and more dark days than I can count. She’s not just my pet—she’s my family. My best friend.
Funds will go toward:
Dental surgery + extractions
Oral growth removal
Histopathology (to determine if the growth is cancerous)
Bloodwork + anesthetic monitoring
Post-operative medication and care
If you’re able to donate even a few dollars or share this with others, it would mean the absolute world to me and to Meeka. Every bit brings us closer to getting her the care she needs.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
