Dear friends, family, and my community,

For those that don’t know me, my name is Dametreus Ward, but many know me as Meech. I’ve spent the last seven years pouring my heart and soul into my work as a photographer and cinematographer here in Los Angeles.

I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to share some difficult news. Unfortunately, last night, my truck got broken into while grabbing food downtown after my set. They stole my Red Komodo X, cinema lenses, MacBook Pro, and other video gear equipment worth over $50,000. I feel numb and completely devastated by this.

As you can imagine, this isn’t just a loss of gear; it feels like a piece of my creative soul has been taken from me. I’ve worked extremely hard to get the things that I own, and if you know me, I have a deep commitment to providing my clients with the highest quality and exceptional service.

Processing this situation is incredibly challenging, and I’m actively seeking ways to replace my equipment so I can continue doing what I love. If you feel compelled to help, any contribution, no matter how small, would mean the world to me during this time. Unfortunately both of my insurances aren’t covering anything besides the broken window.

These unexpected challenges can truly shake us to our core, and I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone. Electronics are not cheap, and it honestly feels like someone is taking away all your hard work. However, I am committed to staying positive and pushing through during this time.

I wanted to update you all and give clarity on things.

So a few have asked will my insurance cover anything. Unfortunately no, none of my insurances are covering anything which is insane to me because why are we paying these high premiums for nothing to be covered. They tell you how everything is covered and then the moment you need to put a claim in, all of a sudden my policy has these new provision's about theft when your car is parked. So yes as you can imagine, this has been a very frustrating process to deal with. Those that are in the industry know how hard it is to get a lot of these things and how particular insurance gets when it revolves electronics/gear. I'm going to still remain positive about all of this and continue to remain positive
