URGENT APPEAL: Help Us Grow Food, Empower Youth, and Feed Vulnerable Families

Dear friends and supporters,

My name is Peter, and I am currently living in the Netherlands. I am reaching out on behalf of the Green Youth Movement, a youth-led initiative founded by Mugisha Phocit, which is transforming lives through sustainable agriculture while fighting hunger at the community level.

I have personally seen the impact this project is making—and I have also seen how urgently support is needed right now.

In the community where Green Youth Movement works, many families go to bed hungry, and many young people are eager to learn practical skills but have no access to land, tools, or resources. This project tackles both problems at once by training youth in climate-smart farming and sharing harvested food with vulnerable families who have no reliable meals.

What Is Holding Us Back—Right Now

Despite the commitment of the youth and the growing number of families depending on this project, Green Youth Movement is facing critical limitations:

Severe lack of farming land

The available land is too small to meet the rising food needs or train all the youth who want to participate. Without immediate support, many young people will be turned away, and harvests will remain insufficient.

️ Shortage of essential tools and seeds

Basic tools like hoes, watering cans (especially for the dry season), and quality seeds are urgently needed. Youth are ready to work—but they have nothing to work with.

Organic fertilizers are ready—but stuck

I am currently able to send organic fertilizers from the Netherlands to support sustainable food production. These fertilizers would significantly increase yields and protect the soil.

However, transportation costs are stopping us. Without urgent financial support for shipping, these fertilizers cannot reach the fields where they are desperately needed.

• Families are hungry now

• Youth are ready to work now

• The planting season cannot wait

• Delays mean lost harvests and missed opportunities

If support does not come in time, the project will be forced to scale down instead of expanding—leaving families without food and youth without hope.

Mijn naam is Peter en ik woon momenteel in Nederland. Ik neem contact op namens de Green Youth Movement, een door jongeren geleid initiatief opgericht door Mugisha Phocit, dat levens verandert door middel van duurzame landbouw terwijl het honger bestrijdt op gemeenschapsniveau.
