After seven years of pouring their hearts into the family deli, they are heartbroken to announce that they have to close the doors. This decision comes after a long struggle with Jeff's health—chronic kidney disease and other complications have made it impossible for him to keep working. Their income is ending, and while Kerry is searching for work, Jeff can only wait for disability to be approved. The uncertainty is overwhelming, and it’s difficult to ask for help, but they are facing a period with no income and mounting medical bills.
They have always worked hard and saved, which allowed them to open the deli. Now, savings are nearly gone, back rent is owed and they are worried about how they will cover medical bills and car repairs to get to and from treatment, and the costs of closing the deli—like taxes, closing accounts, removing the sign from the building and back rent. Most of all, they want to make sure their two young girls are safe and cared for during this time. The hope is that, Jeff's health improves so they can come back stronger and support the family again.
They never imagined they would be in this position, but are reaching out to the community for support. Any help you can offer would mean the world as they navigate this challenging chapter. Even if you can’t help financially, please know that not seeing customers anymore is going to be the hardest and saddest part of this transition. Thank you for reading their story and for considering a donation to help their family get through this difficult time.
