The Local Media Association, a non-profit organization representing 2,800 newspapers, television stations and radio stations, has more than a half dozen members in the path of Hurricane Harvey.
Their employees have been working around the clock covering this disaster, while dealing with their own personal trauma at the same time. Many have damage to their homes, cars and more. Others will suffer from a decline in income as businesses remain shut down for a while.
We have heard from many of our members in the affected areas and their stories are heartbreaking. We have established a fund to assist the employees of our media company members. These funds will be divided equally among the members listed below. We’ll leave it up to their CEOs/senior management teams to distribute the funds to those that need it most (they will provide a report back to us on how they used the funds).
We are looking for both personal and company donations. LMA will donate 2 digital sales certification licenses for all donations of $500 or more ($790 value) as well as a financial contribution of $1,000. All donations will be made to the LMA Foundation, and will be tax deductible. The Foundation will pass all of the donated money, minus the small credit card and Go Fund Me processing fees, to the 7 member companies.
The 7 companies affected are:
