Me'ca has been my shadow since she was a tiny puppy, and I fell in love with her before her eyes were even open. She was supposed to go to another home, but when that fell through, I was overjoyed to bring her into my life. She’s survived parvo and has always been a trooper, but now she’s facing her biggest challenge yet.

I had planned to have Me'ca spayed to prevent any pregnancies, but before her appointment, my older dog unexpectedly got her pregnant during her first heat. The vets have told me through ultrasound and X-ray that she’s carrying just one puppy, but it’s a large one, and the delivery will be risky. I’m disabled and live on a fixed income, so after paying bills, I have almost nothing left. I’ve already paid out of pocket for vet visits because I don’t qualify for pet credit cards, and now I’m facing a big bill for her C-section and spay.

Me'ca means everything to me—she’s my constant companion and the breath I breathe. I’m terrified of losing her or her puppy, and I just want to give her the best chance to come through this safely.
