Meatloaf is more than just a dog—he’s my cousin’s best friend, her emotional support, and a beloved member of our family. Just ten days ago, while we were traveling to Florida by car for Thanksgiving, Meatloaf ate a piece of sweatpants. We didn’t realize he hadn’t passed the material until he suddenly became very ill. On Saturday, he needed emergency surgery to remove the blockage, and now he’s facing a tough recovery with an infection at the surgical site.

Meatloaf has always been there for my cousin, helping her through some of the hardest times in her life. His big personality and loving nature have made him a favorite among friends and family, and his sister Ava Jeanne misses him dearly. My cousin has been laid off from her job since October 31 and has been searching for work without much luck. I’ve been able to help her some, but the costs of Meatloaf’s surgery and ongoing care are more than I can manage alone.
