Help Meatball See a Specialist for His Kneecap

Hello, my name is April Pulsinelli.

My dog's name is Meatball. He just turned 5 on July 14th. A couple of months ago, Meatball was struggling with one of his back legs. We took him to his regular vet; they looked at him and said he might have just jumped and hurt his leg. Nothing too serious, take him home and let him rest. We did what the vet said to do, and he got better. A couple of weeks after that, it started happening again. We called the vet, and his vet said to continue the rest and get him some puppy-safe aspirin. So we did that. It helped a little but not a lot. So last month on the 9th, we took him to his vet. We told his vet that this keeps continuing and that we are concerned. She did some blood work and x-rays. We thought it was going to be something more severe, like something going on with his hips or his spine, which is notorious for French bulldogs. We found out that he has a floating kneecap that pops in and out of place and can be very painful. It is called LUXATING PATELLA. She said to go home, try to get him to not jump as much, and to rest as much as he can. She put him on Dosaquin Hip and Joint, some pain medication, and some collagen chicken chews to help with the joints. If this does not help, then we need to go see a specialist and possibly talk about surgery for him. I am setting this GoFundMe account just for the funds to get him in to see the specialist. I will figure out the rest if he needs surgery. Everyone knows how deeply I care for my dog and that I do anything I can for him. But right now, my husband and I are struggling a little bit, and it hurts to see our dog in pain. So please, if you can find it in your heart, even if it's just a little, anything would be appreciated. Any money that's left over will go towards medication, a brace, physical therapy, or his surgery, whatever he needs done. Thank you so much for your time and your help.
