Help me with my summer tuition to continue school

Hi! Thank you so much for visiting and reading what I have written about my critical financial need to continue my education.

If you do not know me, my name is Madeline and I currently am attending the University of North Texas and working towards a major in Biology and minor in Chemistry.

If you do know me, you know that school has been my number one priority and I have been eager to go into medical forensics since I was 11 years old. If you know me really well, you know that I grew up with very little money and never expected to get a higher education due to my family's financial situation. A few years back, I was blessed with an unexpected opportunity where if I attend a Texas university full time (12 credit hours or more), my tuition is 100% covered by the GI bill. This blessing is what has allowed me to even go back to school in the first place to pursue my desired career in forensics and I am very thankful. (Thank you to my step dad!)

As I am approaching my senior year, I'm having to take more advanced classes that are only offered at my university (cost running around $1,200 or so PER class).

I had to take two summer courses through UNT this summer and the tuition is around $2,500 for JUST these two classes.

I usually am able to save up and pay out of pocket for summer courses because I normally can take them at a local community college, as these are MUCH cheaper (tuition around 200 per class). But, since these are advanced courses and are required for me to take only at UNT, I had no other options other than to sign myself up for these courses if I wanted to graduate.

I already got an extension on my payment deadline by applying for a short-term loan, which in reality, only extends my payment deadline to 30 more days unfortunately.

I have been 100% financially responsible for myself and all my bills since I was 18 (I am 24 now)

This includes rent, electricity, water, phone bill, car insurance, etc. As you all may know, it is expensive to just live.

On top of all of that, I was furloughed for 6 weeks in 2020 during the pandemic and thankfully working again, but living paycheck to paycheck with no ability to save up this significant amount in such a short period of time as I work full-time while attending school.

For me to even make this gofundme, I am obviously desperate. I usually like to do things on my own and try to be as independent as possible, but sometimes, that is not possible and I have to bite the bullet and ask for help.

My tuition bill is due by August 19th and if I do not pay it by then, UNT will drop me from my fall 2021 classes, even though those would be covered by the GI bill. If I have any outstanding previous balance, they will drop me from my courses. I have come so far, making dean's list EVERY semester since Fall 2018, and exceeding my own expectations with the good grades I've worked hard to accomplish. This field of work is a major passion of mine and my entire studies have been motivated by my drive to help others and have my intelligence be a useful tool in the forensic science world. I am specifically studying to be a medical examiner technician, and need my bachelor's degree to do so. I don't want this to be a speed bump for me and I definitely do not want to get dropped from my classes.

If you have read this far, thank you again. If you are able to help, you have no idea how much I appreciate you, even if it's just a dollar. That helps me get closer and closer to my goal.

If you are unable to donate, please share this page and spread the word as someone else may be able to.

I very much appreciate your time reading this and thank you for helping me reach my goal.
