Hello everyone my name is Michelle and I am a fourth year college student at the University of California Davis. Let me introduce you to Bentley. He is my 10 month old Border Collie that has the purest and most genuine heart.  Since his arrival into my life he has taught me a sense of motherhood and given me tremendous joy. Unfortunately, on Friday January 22nd he was ran over by a car. I immediately took him to the vet as he coughed up some blood and was unable to walk at the scene. After getting a diagnostic and some x-rays we were told that he had suffered internal bleeding, bruised lungs and had excessive air outside of his lungs which made it difficult and painful for him to breathe. He remained on oxygen support for the time being. My best friend was struggling to stay alive and finally after 2 strenuous days filled with desperation and agony we got good news. He was breathing on his own, barking, and was more alert.  On the evening of January 23rd he was able to come home- still with pain due to his severe internal trauma,  but alas he was alive and home. His doctor told me that he was very lucky to be alive. I prayed for a miracle because I knew his chances were slim. If you know me, you know Bentley is my world.. I love this boy more than anything. We are attached to the hip and nothing can separate us.

 As an independent college student working to make ends meet and balancing school has been tough.  Bentleys medical bill was estimated to $3000 and I truly wish I was able to pay this on my own. If you or a family member, neighbor, cousin, or friend are able to help me with even the smallest amount it would mean so so much to me.
