Hello Y'all!
My name is Rosi, and I will compete in the 2025 Miss Alberta pageant on February 23. I am reaching out for financial help and sponsors so I can perform to the best of my abilities. I intend to redefine some of society's beauty standards by showing up as my authentic self, standing out from the competition, and using my power to build community. As a heavily tattooed person, you wouldn't expect to see me on the stage of Miss Alberta, but here I am!
Having experienced domestic violence and sexual assault myself, I am deeply moved to do something about it. This is an issue that affects 45% of Albertans... It's a complicated issue that I wish I knew how to solve. But for now, all I can do is help people at risk to protect themselves more effectively by enforcing their confidence and self-esteem through positive experiences. I have spent the last 10 years in recovery and my wounds have become my wisdom that I am now ready to share with everyone hoping to lead survivors and their supporters deeper into their hearts.
As a tattoo artist, I have the privilege to impact Albertans on a skin-deep level, and I aim to amplify my mission further if I win the crown. My mission is to bring healing and empowerment to my communities through art and skill-building. My work connects me to people who use pain and beauty as a way to connect deeper with themselves and others. For some, they are at the very beginning of their recovery journey, and I guide them into making decisions that empower them. And some others are sharing the path with me and I have the honour to watch them blossom and encourage their beautiful process.
Part of my work also involves facilitating workshops in Calgary to build skills and confidence in young artists. I would like to expand my reach to promote even more healing for people who might need extra support or who are interested in the arts. I believe that sometimes being believed in and guided gently into your power is what has helped me most over the years.
You can also encourage me or any other queens by physically coming to support us in Airdrie on February 23 at 6pm. I will link the tickets below. Regardless of who will snatch the crown, it's a night of female politics all about empowerment, beauty and positive changes in the world. I am beyond excited to participate and hopefully see you there!
If you would like to see me fast-track into the finals you can also vote for me at the link below. You will be supporting Sophia Lia's Magazine and helping bring more awareness and access to free mental health resources in our communities.
