Help me Walk without Pain: Support this Battle Against CRPS

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Prakash, living with my wife and 3 kids in lethbridge Alberta, Canada, and until January 29, 2025, I was able to work and provide for myself and my family. That all changed in an instant due to a workplace accident. Today, I am writing to you from a place of profound challenge, learning to navigate life with a severe and painful condition called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), and I am humbly asking for your support.

My Life-Changing Diagnosis

What started as an injury has turned into a relentless neurological disorder. CRPS, often called the “suicide disease,” has the highest scores, like 42 out of 50, according to McGill University research. Only the person with this Syndrom face the fact that due to its severe chronic pain, it has taken over my life. My own nervous system is now my greatest adversary, sending constant, excruciating signals of pain from my left leg.

My doctors have been clear:

· My neurosurgeon states my restrictions are permanent.
· My family doctor, orthopaedic surgeon, neurosurgeon, and chiropractors confirm I have CRPS and am completely unable to work until this is managed. I am dependent on daily Painkillers, leg braces, and crutches, cannot bear cold temperatures, and even wearing a shoe is agonizing due to swelling (edema in the leg )
.Early treatment is most effective, according to all the doctors

A System That’s Failing Me

While I fight this pain every day, I am also fighting to be heard. My employer and insurance company have offered me jobs—like working in a cold poultry plant or cleaning bathrooms—that are completely impossible for someone who cannot stand, cannot be in the cold, and cannot wear safety boots. I have been pressured to accept these positions or risk losing support, even though my doctors state unequivocally that I cannot perform them. Since November 03 all the support I was getting has been terminated. I will appeal and fight this, but firstly i have to try my best to regain my feet before it's too late

My Only Hope: Fast-Tracked, Specialized Care Abroad

Faced with endless delays here in Canada, I have researched internationally renowned, cost-effective CRPS clinics that offer what I cannot get in Canada: immediate, comprehensive, and private care focused entirely on complex nerve pain.

These programs in India, Mexico, and Italy provide world-class treatment at a fraction of the cost of similar private clinics in North America, with little to no wait time. They specialize in the aggressive, multidisciplinary approach I desperately need:

1. India (e.g., Apollo Hospitals, specialist neurology/rehab centers):
· Expertise: Leaders in advanced neurology and cost-effective robotic-assisted rehabilitation.
· Advantage: Offers cutting-edge treatments like sympathetic nerve blocks, ketamine infusions, graded motor imagery, Dry needling therapy, and customized physio protocols in a private setting for a cost that is often 60-70% less than in the West, with no waiting lists.
2. Mexico (e.g., private rehabilitation institutes in Mexico City):
· Expertise: Renowned for integrative pain clinics combining intensive physio, ketamine infusions, and psychological support.
· Advantage: Provides rapid access to multi-week inpatient programs that are comprehensive and affordable. Private consultations and treatment plans can begin within weeks, not months.
3. Italy (e.g., dedicated CRPS programs within European rehabilitation networks):
· Expertise: Pioneers in motor rehabilitation and pioneering pain distraction therapies.
· Advantage: Offers accelerated access to innovative therapies not yet widely available here, in a system designed for intensive, daily treatment without the year-long wait times of the Canadian public system.

Why Your Support is Urgent

This is not a choice—it is a medical necessity. Every week without proper treatment allows the CRPS to become more entrenched, reducing my chance of ever walking normally again. The cost for a 3-4 month intensive program abroad, including travel, accommodation, and treatment, is high, but is my only viable path to recovery.

Your donation will directly fund:

· Treatment fees: Enrollment in a leading international CRPS clinic in India, Mexico, or Italy.
· Travel & Logistics: Flights, medical visas, and accommodation for myself.
· Ongoing Recovery: Essential follow-up care and medication upon my return to Canada.
· Living Sustainance: Helping cover basic bills here at home while I am in treatment and unable to work.

Give Me the Chance to Fight for My Future

I am not asking for a handout. I am asking for a small lifeline—the chance to access the fast, effective care I need to battle this disease and reclaim my independence. Your generosity can bypass the delays and provide the miracle of timely, expert intervention.

Please, help me turn pain into progress. Donate what you can and share my story widely. Together, we can win this fight.

With deepest gratitude and hope,

Prakash Regmi
