In 2017, I suffered a devastating stroke. Doctors told my family I might not survive. When I did, they said I would likely never move or speak again.
Over the past nine years, I have worked every single day to prove them wrong. Through determination and physical therapy, I have regained my ability to speak and can now walk with the help of a walker and a foot brace.
I currently live in an assisted living facility, but I am ready to take the next step toward independence. In order to move out and live more independently, I need to purchase my own walker and foot brace. Unfortunately, my insurance will not cover this equipment, and I cannot leave without having these essential items.
I am trying to raise $400 to purchase the medical equipment I need so I can continue rebuilding my life outside of assisted living.
Any amount, no matter how small, will help me move closer to independence. If you’re unable to give, sharing my story would also mean the world to me.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
