Help Me Volunteer in Taiwan for a Year
Hi!
My name is Mikołaj Myjak, I’m 19 years old, and I’ve just graduated from high school (Abitur) in Berlin.
I’ve been accepted into the Internationaler Jugendfreiwilligendienst (IJFD) — a German program that supports young people in doing voluntary social work abroad.
This August, I’ll be heading to Taiwan for a full year to volunteer at a Waldorf school in Taichung, where I’ll help with children’s education and daily life.
This is more than just a trip — it’s a chance to:
- Experience a new culture (one I have roots in),
- Grow as a person and learn from a completely different environment,
- Pick up some Mandarin,
- And explore the thousand flavors of tea!
Why I Need Your Support
While a big part of the program is funded by the Friends of Waldorf Education and public grants
(more info here: Freunde der Erziehungskunst),
I still need to raise around €3,000 to cover the remaining costs - flight, visa, language course and so on.
I’m hoping to raise this amount latest by mid-July so I can begin this amazing journey on time.
How You Can Help
If you’d like to support me — thank you, truly.
Every euro brings me closer to this dream.
Whether it’s €5, €20, or simply sharing this page, it means a lot to me.
Thank you for believing in young people and in the value of meaningful, cross-cultural experiences.
With a full heart,
Mikołaj
