Help Me Train to Become a Psychotherapist

Hello!
Welcome to my page – my name is Nieta! I’m a Nottingham/London-based programme manager, arts and community practitioner, and an aspiring psychotherapist. I currently work in the charity sector for an organisation that helps build confidence and bravery in young children—often from underprivileged backgrounds—so they can realise their unlimited potential and pursue their dreams.
Speaking of dreams, that’s what this page is all about!
I'm hoping to pursue my dream of training to become a qualified, UKCP-registered Clinical Integrative Psychotherapist. I now realise this journey began in my childhood. I was always deeply curious about people:
Why do they think the way they do?
Why do they feel the way they do?
Why do they behave the way they do?
I loved observing people and imagining what it might be like to walk in their shoes. These curiosities nurtured my empathy, sensitivity, and gravitation toward storytelling.
As I grew older, I channelled this curiosity and empathy into creative expression through theatre, and then sought to apply it in my work—always striving for a sense of higher purpose. My goal has consistently been to engage in work that supports and connects with people.
I’ve been awarded a partial scholarship to train at Metanoia Institute—an intensive, vocational programme that will qualify me as a Clinical Integrative Psychotherapist, practicing at the highest level on the SCoPEd framework upon graduation.
This qualification will allow me to work across a range of settings, including the NHS, community organisations, charities, corporate environments, and private practice.
The Metanoia Scholarship Scheme was created to support inclusion by increasing diversity, access, and participation in the psychological professions—particularly for those from underrepresented backgrounds.
To turn this dream into reality, I need your support. I am self-funding the remaining costs of training. Truthfully, becoming a psychotherapist is a costly endeavour, and without initiatives like Metanoia’s Scholarship Scheme—and the generosity of those who’ve supported and believed in me—I wouldn’t have come this far.
If you're able to support me in any way—however big or small—I will truly appreciate it.
What I’m Trying to Raise:
- Remaining tuition fees: £13,000
- Weekly therapy sessions (across a 5 year duration): £50–£130 per session
-Assuming a mid-range therapy session cost, the total would be approximately £3,600
- Clinical supervision (across a 4 year duration): £55–£90 per hour
-Assuming a mid-range supervision session cost, the total would be approximately £2,880
This MSc won’t just mark a major professional milestone for me—as someone who has personally benefited from therapy, I’m deeply motivated to channel my lived experience into supporting others. It will enable me to work directly with some of the most vulnerable members of our society, helping them achieve meaningful change and lead more fulfilling lives.
Thank you so much for reading and for any support you can offer.
Warmly,
Nieta
