An Urgent Humanitarian Appeal from a Displaced Student in Gaza
I’m from Khan Younis, Gaza.
I used to be a student. My only focus was to study, succeed, and grow.
I wanted to learn so that one day I could help my family and make them proud.
But the war took everything.
Our home has destroyed, our neighborhood has leveled,
and now I’m displaced in Al-Mawasi, living in a tent—
a flimsy shelter that shakes with every gust of wind.
Every night our survive feels like a miracle and the smell of death is everywhere.

My father owned a pharmacy.
It was his life’s work. It served our community for years.
But it has bombed—completely destroyed,
just like so many of our dreams.

We're now living without enough food, without clean water, without electricity.
But even with all this, I still try to study.
I still hold onto my notebook, still write my dreams
on the corner of a torn page.
Things are only getting worse.
We, the displaced, are living between rubble and uncertainty.
I am not begging. I am asking for a chance.
A chance to survive, a chance to continue.
All what we need is the basic things—flour, canned food, blankets, tents to protect us from the cold.
