Help me to Study and Stay
Hey there! I am creating this gofoundme to achieve a dream.
My name is Carolina Medina, I am a Chilean Illustrator with a BA in ESL Teaching Programme and an MA in American and English Literature, but I have been learning and developing new techniques as an illustrator in Ireland since 2017, which has always been my dream.
This year I've been accepted in a Graphic Design programme in Dublin, starting this September 2019. For anyone who knows me, this has been an extraordinary chance to finally do what I truly love. This program opens countless doors for me, and it will provide all the training that I need to become a skilled illustrator/ designer.
The Dublin Institute of Design has offered me a monthly payment plan where I can spread the entire fee in ten payments. Unfortunately, to renew my visa as an international student I need to make a €2200 deposit before classes begin by the end of September, this is to demonstrate in my INIS appointment that I have serious plans of staying in Ireland to develop a professional career in this field and that I have an agreement with the Institute to pay monthly.
I can't reach this target by myself because of financial barriers. The art shop where I work got flooded more than a month ago and it has been impossible to reopen. We have been cleaning and saving part of the art supplies, but there is a significant loss. This is why I am asking for help.
If you can support me in any way to achieve this I will never be able to thank you enough. Please give what you can, I already appreciate the fact that you are reading this, so thank you very much for your time.
I will offer a free Weekend Workshop for all those interested in art techniques during December, as a sign of gratitude.
