Help me to save Lou Lou, my Italian Greyhound
Lou Lou is my gentle little Italian greyhound and means the world to me. She is my first dog, and I love her more than anything.
It was her birthday yesterday... We were counting down the days together, I already bought her a silly birthday hat and was planning to take my sweet little birthday girl to a pet store, so she could pick her treat. It is our secret tradition.
We spent her day at the vet instead. And $1200 later I got sent away to an emergency room, where she is now being closely monitored at their ICU.
My pup, who was completely healthy just 36 hours ago, has now been diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder that is causing her body fight its own platelets production - she barely has any now...
What happened to my dog that has always been healthy?
Two days ago, I noticed traces of blood on her bed and weird dark purple bruises under her skin - on her legs and then next to her belly button. After our visit to the vet, they gave me my dog back with all these bandages you are seeing in one of the pictures. They advised me to take them off in 40 min. I did not think much of it, but when I did take them off, I saw that all her little skinny legs got very swollen and turned black and blue. I started panicking and called the vet, and they only said it is beyond their capabilities, and that I need to rush lou lou to the emergency vet for a blood transfusion.
My Lou got hospitalized and is in the Intensive Care Unite. She has lost 30% of her red blood cells within the last 24 h.
Lou Lou's blood is still showing critically low platelets - she is bleeding on the inside.
I have never asked for donations in my life, but I realize I am facing something major... Please help me to save my little IG Lou Lou any way you can - I will be forever grateful. She is my everything.
