Help me to recover my audition (implant)

My name is Gregory Salazar Yaime, I am 30 years old, and on March 22nd, I was a victim of a reckless driver who hit me at excessive speed. After the accident, I was transported by ambulance to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, where they performed the following procedures to save my life:

- Neurosurgery: Bicoronal craniotomy (repair of skull base fractures), reduction and fixation of orbital fracture, plus abdominal fat grafting. Evacuation of subdural hematoma.

- Orthopedic and Traumatology Surgery: Reduction and internal fixation for left humerus fracture (use of osteosynthesis material, plates, and fixators between shoulder and elbow).

- Gastrostomy: Tube inserted through the abdominal wall for stomach feeding, which allowed for my proper nutrition for several weeks.

I also have:

- Ligament damage in both knees.

- Complete loss of sense of smell.

- Fracture in the temporal bone of the right ear.

- Hearing loss in both ears.

Currently, I am undergoing rehabilitation to strengthen my knees.

Additionally, I experience a lack of balance.

DUE TO MY COMPLETE HEARING LOSS, I REQUIRE URGENT TREATMENT.

At this moment, it is of great importance to undergo a COCHLEAR IMPLANT in my right ear, which has a cost of $56,000 excluding medical expenses.

For my left ear, I require hearing aids, which cost $3,000.

I arrived in the United States in January 2023 to study and improve my language skills, and these past five (5) months have been very difficult, where I've had to relearn how to eat, dress, bathe, and walk.

I have experienced very challenging times physically, emotionally, and financially. The woman who hit me does not have the resources to cover my expenses.

Among other expenses are bus fares or Uber rides to medical appointments and therapies, as well as food and rent.

For these reasons, I am reaching out to you because I desire to be able to hear again, I wish to have a life as normal as possible. With the implant, I will be able to continue my education and fulfill my dreams.

Mi nombre es Gregory Salazar Yaime, tengo 30 años y el pasado 22 de marzo fui víctima de una conductora irresponsable, quien a excesiva velocidad me atropelló.

Tras el accidente fuí trasladado en ambulancia al Brigham and Women’s Hospital en la Ciudad de Boston, donde me hicieron los siguientes procedimientos para salvarme la vida:

-Neurocirugía: Craneotomía bicoronal (Reparación de fracturas de base de cráneo), reducción y fijación de fractura orbital, más injerto de grasa abdominal. Evacuación de hematoma subdural.

-Cirugía ortopedia y traumatología: Reducción y fijación interna por fractura de húmero izquierdo (uso de material de osteosíntesis, platina y fijadores entre hombro y codo).

-Gastrostomía: Sonda a través de pared abdominal para alimentación estomacal que permitió mi adecuada nutrición durante varias semanas.

También tengo:

- Daño de ligamentos en ambas rodillas.

- Pérdida total del olfato.

- Fractura en el hueso temporal del oído derecho.

- Pérdida de audición en ambos oídos.

Actualmente estoy en rehabilitación para fortalecer mis rodillas.

Adicional tengo falta de equilibrio.

DEBIDO A MI PÉRDIDA TOTAL DE AUDICIÓN REQUIERO TRATAMIENTO URGENTE.

En estos momentos es de gran importancia hacerme un IMPLANTE COCLEAR en mi oído derecho, el cual tiene un costo de $56.000 sin incluir los gastos médicos.

Para mi oído izquierdo requiero audífonos, los cuales tienen un costo de $3.000.

Llegué a los Estados Unidos en enero de 2023 para estudiar y mejorar el idioma, y han sido cinco (5) meses muy difíciles donde he tenido que aprender de nuevo a comer, vestirme, bañarme y caminar.

He vivido momentos muy difíciles en lo físico, emocional y económico. La mujer que me atropelló no tiene recursos para costear mis gastos.

Entre otros gastos están los pasajes del autobús o Uber para ir a las citas médicas y terapias. Así como comida y arrendamiento.

Es por esta razón que acudo a ustedes porque deseo volver a escuchar, deseo poder tener una vida lo más normal posible. Con el implante, podré lograr seguir preparándome y poder cumplir mis sueños.
