My name is Anna, and online I am known as LEA from the channel LEAstreamss, just rebranded to LEAplaysharp. I have been a harp player since I was seven years old. I am raising money for the purchase of a Fullsicle SE semi-acoustic harp and the essential accessories that come with it. Now I am would like to raise money so I can play gigs outside with a microphone, mackie showbox and everything else you need.

Why is this goal so important to you?

This goal is the realization of a dream that started in 2008. (see the cover picture, that's me!) At the World Record for the largest harp orchestra in Amsterdam. I saw an electric harp for the first time, played by the famous Deborah Henson-Conant. I even spoke to her briefly in English that day and I was absolutely mesmerized by her and the instrument. From that moment on, I set my sights on: I am going to play the electric harp!

I first learned to master the pedal harp when I was 17. The entire budget went into purchasing that pedal harp, which meant the electric harp was no longer an option.

The current problem is mobility. My heavy pedal harp makes it impossible to be flexible. I can’t easily take it to jam with other musicians or spontaneously perform at an open mic night. Crucially, my pedal harp does not fit in my car, which is a huge obstacle if I ever want to seriously pursue gigs. I lack complete mobility.

I do still want to keep on playing pedal harp, so I won't sell it. But would love to be able to be more flexible.

How will the money be used?

A Camac DHC (Deborah Henson Conant) is very expensive. Therefore, the most practical solution for me is to purchase a Fullsicle SE. These are very lightweight, making them easy to travel with, and they are semi-acoustic. This means I don't necessarily have to haul an amplifier around if it's not feasible.

The funds raised will be directly used for:

The purchase of the Fullsicle SE (Special Edition, more lightweight among other things) harp.

The necessary accessories: an extra set of strings, a lap-stick (to hold the harp), a stand/holder, and a protective carrying case for transport.

Should we exceed the funding goal, the remaining donations will be used for a loudspeaker for gigs and any other accessories needed for live performances/jam sessions.

How will you receive the funds?

I, Anna (LEA), am the sole beneficiary. The money will be securely transferred to my bank account via GoFundMe’s payment processor, after the standard transaction fee of 2.9% + €0.25 per donation is deducted. I will post updates and share photos of the purchase and the first performances with the new harp!

Mijn naam is Anna, en online ben ik bekend als LEA van het kanaal LEAstreamss. Ik speel sinds mijn zevende harp. Ik haal geld op voor de aankoop van een Fullsicle SE semi-akoestische harp en de essentiële accessoires die erbij horen.

Waarom is dit doel zo belangrijk voor jou?

Dit doel is de verwezenlijking van een droom die in 2008 begon. (zie de omslagfoto, dat ben ik!) Op het Wereldrecord voor het grootste harpenorkest in Amsterdam zag ik voor het eerst een elektrische harp, bespeeld door de beroemde Deborah Henson-Conant. Ik heb haar die dag zelfs kort gesproken in het Engels en ik was absoluut betoverd door haar en het instrument. Vanaf dat moment zette ik mijn zinnen erop: ik ga de elektrische harp spelen!

Ik heb eerst de pedaalharp leren beheersen toen ik 17 was. Het hele budget ging op aan de aankoop van die pedaalharp, waardoor de elektrische harp niet langer een optie was.

Het huidige probleem is mobiliteit. Mijn zware pedaalharp maakt het onmogelijk om flexibel te zijn. Ik kan hem niet gemakkelijk meenemen om te jammen met andere muzikanten of spontaan op te treden tijdens een open mic-avond. Cruciaal is dat mijn pedaalharp niet in mijn auto past, wat een enorme belemmering is als ik ooit serieus optredens wil doen. Het ontbreekt me aan volledige mobiliteit.

Ik wil de pedaalharp wel blijven spelen, dus ik verkoop hem niet. Maar ik zou graag flexibeler willen zijn.

Hoe wordt het geld besteed?

Een Camac DHC (Deborah Henson Conant) is erg duur. Daarom is de meest praktische oplossing voor mij de aanschaf van een Fullsicle SE. Deze zijn erg licht van gewicht, waardoor ze gemakkelijk mee te nemen zijn, en ze zijn semi-akoestisch. Dit betekent dat ik niet per se een versterker hoef mee te slepen als dat niet handig is.

Het ingezamelde geld wordt rechtstreeks gebruikt voor:

De aankoop van de Fullsicle SE (Special Edition, onder andere lichter van gewicht) harp.

De noodzakelijke accessoires: een extra set snaren, een lap-stick (om de harp vast te houden), een standaard/houder en een beschermende draagtas voor transport.

Mochten we het financieringsdoel overschrijden, dan zullen de resterende donaties worden gebruikt voor een luidspreker voor optredens en eventuele andere accessoires die nodig zijn voor live optredens/jamsessies.

Hoe ontvang je de fondsen?

Ik ontvang jouw donatie. Het geld wordt veilig overgemaakt naar mijn bankrekening via de betalingsverwerker van GoFundMe, nadat de standaard transactiekosten van 2,9% + €0,25 per donatie zijn afgetrokken. Ik zal updates plaatsen en foto's delen van de aankoop en de eerste optredens met de nieuwe harp!
