My name is Oli, and as a Mexican female STEM student in Mérida, I'm deeply committed to my studies in coastal zone management and sustainability. My passion is to drive real change for our planet, and my education is the foundation for that future.
Life recently took an unexpected turn. My father, who was my main financial support, passed away in 2023. Since then, my mom, a dedicated Spanish teacher, has been helping me, but her classes are being cut, making it increasingly difficult for her to support us both.
Compounding this, my living situation became unbearable due to a toxic environment with an ex-roomie. I endured constant noise, profound disrespect for my personal space, and even the destruction of my belongings. Crucially, this included neglect and disregard for my cats, which deeply impacted their well-being alongside my own. This hostile atmosphere made it impossible to focus on my demanding university workload, which is so intense that I cannot work while studying. These challenges culminated in my eviction, leaving me in urgent need of a new home by June 26th.
I've found a new place that offers the peace and stability I desperately need to continue my studies, away from the past toxic environment, and where my cats will be safe and cared for. But to secure it, I urgently need to raise funds for the security deposit and first month's rent.
Your contribution will directly ensure I can:
- Continue my university education without interruption, allowing me to pursue my dream of contributing to sustainability.
- Secure a safe and quiet home essential for my intensive studies and well-being, and for the welfare of my beloved cats.
Every bit helps me move forward and focus on making a positive impact on our coastal zones and beyond. Thank you for your kindness and support during this critical time.
