Help me to give to the local community

Hi everyone, my name is Wayne. I was a Safer Streets Officer for a local BID, Worcester Business Improvement District). I worked for them for 18 months dealing with theft and Anti-Social behaviour etc.

On September 26th 2024 my life changed. I had an incident with one the locals. I was called to an store as he had been inside throwing wet floor signs being aggressive and abusive to staff and members of the public. I had radioed through to Police but they were unavailable so told the store to 999 it. I called through to CCTV to monitor until I got there. When I got there I stood on the door as the male had come out. So I stood my ground to ensure he wouldn't gain entry. The whole time I was there I had threatening behaviour and abuse. I repeatedly told the male to get away from me and he then came at me with a raised fist. I then had to push him away. The male stumbled back and hit his head......

I lost my Job for this on October 25th 2024, I was arrested and charged for common assault and had to attend court on 14th January 2025 with a plea. I also had both my SIA Licenses suspended (Door Supervisor and my CCTV) I pleaded not guilty as I did what I had to and that was to use common law and self defence. I then had to wait another 5 and half months for my trial. On 2nd June 2025 I went to court and put forward evidence. My body camera footage had all the audio of what had happened and I was cleared as the courts saw I was innocent and had to use self defence. I was dismissed from my job for using Physical force inflicting harm to a member of the public.

This was a job I loved, I made a difference in helping people and it made me feel good. Worcester BID were going through a ballot at the time and I was not suspended pending investigation, instead I was made to go and get them votes as my role was voted the highest in a consultation book that businesses had voted for. I had retrieved over £35,000 worth of stock back for retailers and helped a lot of people.

My reasoning for this fundraiser is to try and set up my own Safer Street business where I can challenge BID and do what I love and make a difference to the City centre of Worcester. Please help me achieve my goal. Thank you
