Help Me To Fight Against Male Cancer & Homelessness

Chris Moon is organizing this fundraiser to benefit Orchid Cancer Appeal.

2025 is the year that I want to help make a difference and to raise money for two incredible charities that mean a great deal to me. Help me support their amazing work and to fight back against Male Cancer and Homelessness.

I will be running 4 Marathons (Manchester, Worcester, Berlin and Amsterdam) and 4 Half Marathons (London Landmarks, Bristol, Great North Run and Oxford) to raise £2000 for Orchid Cancer Appeal and £1000 for Shelter UK.

As you may have seen, I got back into running in 2024, running 6 official Half Marathons in 5 months. In 2025, despite never running above 24K before, I will be running not 1 but 4 Marathons to aim to raise as much money and raise as much awareness as I can.

Orchid Cancer Appeal: Over 55,000 people will be diagnosed with prostate, testicular or penile cancer every year in the UK. I have unfortunately seen first hand the pain and trauma that prostate cancer causes, with a close relative currently battling against it.

Orchid exists to save lives from testicular, prostate and penile cancers through a range of support services, pioneering research and promoting awareness.

£10 could pay for a telephone call with an Orchid Nurse Specialist on our Freephone Helpline.
£20 could cover the cost of male cancer information being sent to 17 people following a male cancer concern or diagnosis.
£30 could cover a vital counselling session for those diagnosed with testicular or penile cancer.
£200 could cover a talk within the community about the risk factors, signs and symptoms of male cancer to promote early diagnosis.

Shelter UK Appeal:

Over 150,000 Children will go to bed tonight homeless. This figure has more than doubled in the last 10 years and on the rise. Having worked within the education sector for the past 10 years, I have seen the effects and impacts of those not having proper housing. Having also lived in 2 major cities in the past few years, I have seen a dramatic rise in the amount of homelessness on our streets, and the alarming nature of just how young a lot of people are.

Every parent wants their child and family to be in a safe secure home but so often this isn’t the case. Far too often families are stuck in unsuitable temporary accommodation and this typically is for over a year, away from friends, schools and community’s that can support them.

For every £1 raised, 79p is directly spent on helping people through advice, support and campaigning. 21p is spent on fundraising.

£18 could help fund a webchat providing essential homing advice
£29 could pay could pay for an emergency call with a shelter adviser
£50 could enable a legal adviser to complete an application for legal aid
