Hi, my name is Richard. I’ve recently been diagnosed with a brain tumour. I started suffering strange symptoms last July, actually on our wedding day as it turns out. After the symptoms progressed and I got worse I went and got a CT scan done. This sadly highlighted a brain tumour. Having had further scans and tests it has been confirmed I have a primary tumour in my brain. We still don’t know if it is malignant at this stage, and I am due to have surgery to debulk the tumour and obtain a biopsy for testing for malignancy. I have not been able to continue working due to worsening symptoms, lack of mobility and balance issues. I already live with significant Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension, which is well managed by my hospital team. And now find myself in this position where I hate to be asking for any help at all with the cost of living, rent, bills, mobility aids etc as my earning power has effectively stopped until we know how severe the situation is. I’m really not sure what else to do, which is why I have created this fundraiser to try and take some pressure off. Any funds raised
will go towards everyday expenses,
rent, utilities, any additional costs
associated to extra care
i will need following surgery and further treatment. We only got married just over 6 months ago and this is not how I envisioned our new life together. I hate to think that my new bride has this added pressure to contend with so soon after we became man and wife. If anyone can spare anything, no matter how small, I will be eternally grateful. Thank you for your time today.
