About a year ago, I ran from a toxic marriage after being discarded with the “I need to work on myself before I can be with anyone else.” After losing my first spouse tragically several years earlier, this abandonment hit two-fold. I’ve never felt so alone.

Unfortunately, when I reached out to family for help at the scariest moment of my life, they also chose abandonment. When talks of gay conversation therapy entered the chat from my parents, I knew my safety was compromised and planned my escape. Ive been living in Denver since March where I’ve been working a part time job on a community share farm, where I get to make a real difference and help feed over 70 families. Despite all of the trauma, I still choose light and love over the darkness experienced. I choose me! I celebrated my four years of sobriety from alcohol here. I’ve made new friends here. And I’m proud of myself for the first time in a long time for putting in the work and building a life for ME. But at the end of the day, after bills, I end up going hungry myself most nights. Applied for SNAP benefits- allowed $24 in groceries each month- so at least that’s a couple of meals! Things are getting better, I’m doing my best to stay positive, but the numbers aren’t adding up. Health insurance is not an option for me right now.

Please please PLEASE help me get these molars extracted so I don’t die and can continue making my dreams a reality! I’ve found a program at CU dentistry program that does dental work for cheap.

Ideally, I could use some help as well getting out to California in a couple of months. I’m moving to be closer to my best friend and some support. Otherwise, I’ll be sleeping on the streets again. Thank you
