I’m creating this fundraiser for myself because I’m hoping to travel to Florida next year to meet friends who stood by me during one of the hardest times of my life. This trip means much more to me than a vacation. It is my chance to personally say thank you to the people who were there for me when I truly needed them most. I spent 8 years and 6 months unable to walk, and after I finally regained that ability, a later knee surgery nearly took it away again. That was the point when I almost gave up. During that dark time, one person above all else, Jay, known as Drunk3PO, and the guys with Geeks and Gamers were there for me and helped me keep going when I felt like I was at the end of my strength.
I’ve been trying to make this trip happen because being able to see them in person and thank them face to face would mean the world to me. The funds from this fundraiser will help cover plane tickets, hotel costs, and theme park expenses for the trip to Florida. I also found out that if I do not have enough space on the flight to remove my prosthetic leg, I could badly injure my stump, which means I need first-class seating for the room I need to travel safely. I need help getting there, and any support would mean so much to me. Even if you’re not able to donate, sharing this fundraiser would make a real difference. Thank you for helping me get the chance to thank the people who stood by me when I needed it most.
