Hi, my name is Dale, and I am Amber's "former" step-dad from 30 years ago. However, we have carried on a relationship, and I still think of her as my step-daughter. Her daughters call me Grandpa Dale. They need your help! In the middle of April, Amber was suffering from severe back pain and was experiencing numbness below the waist and down her left leg to her heal. She was diagnosed as having an "entrapped" nerve caused by a bulging disc that had herniated and was breaking apart. This was much more serious than a pinched nerve. Gone untreated, it could have resulted in permanent numbness or even paralysis. She was referred to a neurosurgeon who performed the necessary surgery on the same day he saw her because of the severity of her condition. She came home the next day and began her physical therapy and took control of her recovery. Thankfully, she is a hard, dependable worker and had a considerable amount of sick leave built up with her employer at a local nursing home (cook). She stretched it out as long as she could to at least cover her medical insurance premium. This limited her finances to care for her children and maintain her household. After she recuperated for three months, her doctor released her to go back to work with some minor limitations of lifting. She has gladly returned to work and is enjoying seeing her "residents" and co-workers. She is a dedicated mom when she gets home at the end of the day. So far, her share of her medical bills has reached $3000, and she incurred other expenses and bills because of her long absence from work. Her beautiful daughters would appreciate any help you could offer. I know that these are difficult economic times, but anything you can spare would help.
