Help Charlotte take the leap towards a better independent life!
About Me:
Hi everyone, my name is Charlotte. I have cerebral palsy caused by a brain hemorrhage after being born prematurely. Living with CP has its challenges, but I’ve never let it define me. I’m passionate about living fully, pushing boundaries, and showing that disability doesn’t mean inability. I currently use a power wheelchair, but it no longer fits my needs or lifestyle. It’s bulky and heavy, making it very difficult to travel on most public transport, coaches, and taxis; often leading to extra costs just to get where I need to go. This limits my freedom and adds stress to everyday life.
I’ve recently started my fitness journey at the gym which is something I’m really proud of. Since becoming a full-time electric wheelchair user, I’ve struggled to get the kind of movement and exercise my body really needs. This equipment will help me become even more active.
Why I’m Fundraising:
I want to be more fit, more mobile, and more independent. The world isn’t built for disabled people, but having the right equipment can make a huge difference. An active wheelchair with a power assist attachment would give me the flexibility to move more easily, reduce extra travel costs, and enjoy things I love like travelling to concerts, socialising, and exploring new places. These are the things that make me feel most alive.
Unfortunately, this specialist equipment comes with a massive price tag. The NHS can’t provide what I need, and at 26 years old, I no longer qualify for help from most disability charities.
My Challenge:
To raise the funds I need, I’m doing something bold; a sponsored skydive! Taking this leap is a way for me to raise awareness and bring me closer to the independence and freedom I deserve as this equipment isn’t a luxury; it’s freedom.
How You Can Help:
If you can donate, share, or simply cheer me on, it would mean the world to me. Every bit of support brings me closer to the mobility and life I’m striving for.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support!
Love, Charlotte
