Hi friends! Katie is now 28 weeks, which means we are 12 weeks (or less) from meeting Baby Sherar! As our due date approaches, I'm thinking more and more about being able to take time off after Baby arrives. Here's the situation:
When we got married, we put a lot of the wedding expenses on credit cards. A few months later, we refinanced that debt with a loan to get a fixed payment, lower interest rate, and faster pay off. Right now, that loan is set to mature in June 2026. However, back in June of this year, Katie and I decided we’d try to get this loan paid off before Baby comes to free up some income for, y’know, “baby stuff.” With the payments we’re set to make in August, September, and October, what we’ll need to make that happen is about $2500.
What I make in a month also just happens to be… $2500.
Recently, we looked at all our finances and such and realized that we can either save the $2500 for me to take time off or pay off the loan, but we cannot do both.
Will you help us do both?
My thinking is that if we can raise enough for a month, then what I can do is take two weeks off and stretch the rest into another 4 weeks at part-time. If we can raise enough for two months, then I can stretch it into a total of 10 weeks (4 off, 6 part-time, or some other combination of those). Regardless, the money to pay off the loan we are going to continue to work for ourselves.
Any little bit helps! Thank you in advance!
